ORGANIZATION & PROFESSION:
Slade K. Smith is President and CEO of Building Environmental Management Corporation (BEM Corp.) Mr. Smith is a Qualified Environmental Professional, Registered Construction Inspector and Registered Professional Industrial Hygienist.

EDUCATION:
Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin with an emphasis on organic chemistry, soil physics, and hydrogeology. He also holds a certification in Building Inspection Technology from the Minnesota State Colleges and University system.

EXPERIENCE:
Mr. Smith has over a decade of experience in investigating and solving environmental problems. Prior to founding BEM Corp., he was part of the Institute for Environmental Assessment’s (IEA) Indoor Air Quality Division where he oversaw hundreds of facility related evaluations that encompass a variety of disciplines, including industrial hygiene, reactive, and proactive building and environmental evaluations. He also served with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, where he was responsible for evaluating and mapping the environmental quality of Minnesota’s natural resources.

Mr. Smith is regarded as an expert in the environmental indoor air quality consulting industry, including national and local speaking engagements, article publications, and expert witness testimony.
